Events taking place for Armed Forces Day 2024 –
Birmingham – Brindley Place, B1 2JB – Saturday 29 June – 10am – 3pm
A parade of serving military men, women, veteran associations, cadet and MPCT accompanied by local pipe bands. Various stalls, displays and entertainment.
Sandwell – Freeth St, Oldbury B69 3DE – Saturday 29 June – 11am – 4pm
Annual celebration of Armed Forces Day.
Dudley – Himley Road, DY3 4DF – Sunday 30 June – 11am – 4pm
Held at the beautiful Grade II listed Himley Hall & Park. This free event includes a vintage military vehicle display, vintage fairground rides, Punch and Judy shows and 1940s/50s dance lesson taster sessions. There will also be a paintball gallery, archery, and rifle range.
In the park there will be vintage homewares, crafts, clothing and a vintage tea tent.
Wolverhampton – West Park – Saturday 29 June – noon – 4pm
A great day of free entertainment for all the family with funfair rides, inflatables, street food, bar traders, facepainting, Dr Bike sessions, circus activities and a parade at 1pm. There will also be live music from The Bluebird Belles and other artists on the main stage and a parade.
Coventry – Holy Trinity Church, CV1 5EX – Saturday 29 June – 10.30 -12.00
A service will be held in the Holy Trinity Church at 10.30 followed by a short parade commencing at 11.30 with members of the Armed forces community around Broadgate.
Warwick – St Nicholas Park, CV34 4QY – Saturday 29 June – 11am – 3pm
With a theme of “Our Allies” there will be free food and family activities.
Shrewsbury – Soldiers of Shropshire Museum, SY1 2AT – Saturday 29 – 11am – 3pm
There will be a number of service charities and businesses demonstrating how they support the Armed Forces community. Free access to Shrewsbury Castle, children’s activities, refreshments, police fire, Shrewsbury male voice choir, cadet band and lots more.
Telford – TF2 8AQ – Sunday 30th – 11am – 4pm
Free family fun day, full of activities for the children, with face painters, arts and crafts, and sports activities. Representatives from the local Cades, Military and Veterans and military charity stands. There also be entertainment, walkabouts, food and drink.
