STAFF INTERVIEW SERIES- Spotlight on: Kerry Parker
Kerry Parker (Office Manager)
“I am currently doing running training for the Wolf Run for charity…..it’s not fun!”
Time with the company: 15 years
What made you get into lettings? I joined the company working in the sales department but I was soon asked to be the lettings manager and grow that side of the business. Although I knew nothing about lettings I really fancied the challenge and liked the idea of how fast paced the lettings is which suits my personality!
What do you enjoy most about the job and what makes the company so good? I love the fact that the company is forward thinking and are always willing to consider new ideas (no matter how far fetched some of them are!). This means that we can always be one step ahead of everybody else and have the best products. I know we give the best service and always strive to make people feel safe (whether that’s landlords or tenants).
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Not running! (I am currently training for the Wolf Run in April to raise money for charity and it’s not fun!) I love animals and spending time with my friends and family. I do actually enjoy exercising (just not running!) and love dancing.
Do you have any random quirks or skills? I can do the splits and get my leg over my head!
What is the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you? I was once on a valuation and I had a skirt on which had a zip from top to bottom. I could feel the zip keep moving down and by the time I had finished the valuation and was just getting into my car the zip completely un-zipped! The most important thing was I got the instruction!
If given a chance- who would you be for the day? The prime minister so I could put the world to rights!
What are your top 3 life highlights? Going down the Olympic bobsleigh slope in Meribel, having a fantastic relationship with my mum and growing the business here to where it is now.
If you were on death row what would your last meal be? Cambozola cheese, crackers, port and apple.
If you could have any special power what would it be? To be able to heal people
What would be the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery? A big house in Devon or Cornwall with swimming pool, hot tub and a private beach
What top things are on your bucket list? I want to dive off a cliff in Hawaii, visit my sister in New Zealand and go diving in Bermuda
What does your perfect day look like? I would get up, put on my bikini, shorts and flip flips. I would go for a snorkel in the sea and then come home and bake in the sun drinking orange juice and eating freshly baked croissants. I would then spend the rest of the afternoon chilling on the beach reading a book (probably a James Patterson).
