Our First Charity Event of the Year- Afternoon Tea Party
On Friday 26th February we held our first ever company charity event which was an afternoon tea party in our office in Barnt Green. Our office was open between 1-4pm for anyone to pop in to buy cake and beverages. Most of the letting department made several cakes each and also some lovely staff members from our sales office did some too which we were very grateful for. As you can see from the photo- there was a massive selection on offer including lemon drizzle cake, carrot cake, Victoria sponge, cupcakes, chocolate roulade, maple syrup cake, apple and cinnamon cake, scones, flapjacks, mars bar crispies, tiffin and mince pies.
At 9.20am we had our first pre-order of the day and totally sold out of our scones! The chocolate roulade also nearly all sold out before we had even opened the doors. We had a good steady flow of locals and clients popping in throughout the 3 hours with some people running in for cake for parties later that day and others stopping for a chat and a catch up with us. Everybody was very generous with donations which we think that had a lot to do with the fact that so many people have had a personal experience of somebody suffering with Alzheimers- it’s something that’s close to a lot of peoples hearts.
In total we managed to raise £206.56 which we are delighted with- we are even tempted to hold another one later in the year.
