The good news keeps coming
Like the proverbial bus, you wait a year for some good news and then all of a sudden there is a constant stream of it reports Andrew Oulsnam, Managing Partner of Robert Oulsnam & Company.
Following on from the good news last month from the RICS, the Chartered Surveyors Institution have reported more surveyors have reported price rises rather than price falls for the first time since May 2007. They have also reported an increase in new instructions in August giving buyers a welcome improved choice.
Similarly both the Halifax and Nationwide have reported price increases although very nominal ones. This does not mean property prices are suddenly going to surge upwards but it does hopefully mean price falls are at an end and that prices will be relatively stable for a period of time.
Locally in the West Midlands it is noticeable there are far more sales being agreed up to £500,000 rather than above.
