So Much Good News
There has been so much good news on the property market in recent weeks reports Andrew Oulsnam of Robert Oulsnam & Company it is difficult to believe things were so depressed last year.
Prices have stopped falling if you take the consensus view, The Halifax and Nationwide surveys report nominal increases or decreases over the last three months and now the Land Registry say that prices rose for the first time in 18 months in July albeit at a very nominal 0-1%.
Property data company Hometrack have also reported flat house prices.
On top of this the British Bankers Association have said that mortgage approvals rose in June to the highest level since March 2008 and are likely to rise further in the coming months.
Rents on residential property also rose in June for the first time in three months.
The number of properties sold and let by Robert Oulsnam & Company in July was also the best this year so far.
The market is definitely not booming but it’s an awful lot better than it has been.
