Shes a Winner
Sally-Ann Neath-Duggan, Branch Manager from Rubery breeds and shows Dalmatians. Every year in January, all of the top winning Dalmatians in the UK are invited to take part in the Dalmatian of the Year competition, held by the North of England Dalmatian Club. To attend this event you have to qualify the previous year by either winning a Challenge Certificate or a Best Puppy In Breed.
Sally-Ann commented “This year my puppy Buffrey Gift Wrapped or Cracker to her friends qualified. 14 puppies attended the event which is judged by three judges on a knock out basis, going through several rounds ending with two finalists.
In my wildest of dreams I never would have dreamt that Cracker and I would end up in the final, since the competition was to a high standard. But Cracker showed her heart out and when our number was announced, the shock on my face said it all; the room irrupted with everyone cheering and clapping. I have to admit I had tears in my eyes, my home bred puppy was announced as The Dalmatian Puppy Of The Year.
Lord Kirkham, the patron of the North Of England Dalmatian Club stepped across and handed me the beautiful silver trophy along with a bottle of Champagne (which I must say went down very well) a glass engraved trophy plus Crackers medal.
A day not to be forgotten for a long time; now we are getting ourselves ready for Crufts later this month and we can only go with hope in our heart but I know Cracker won’t let me down, since she is my super star !!!”
We wish Sally-Ann and Cracker the best of luck at Crufts next week commented Andrew Oulsnam, Managing Partner of Robert Oulsnam & Company.
