A Steady Start to the Year
The Housing Market has enjoyed a steady start to the year reports Andrew Oulsnam, Managing Partner of Robert Oulsnam & Company.
General levels of enquiries and viewings are up on this point last year although sales remain much the same. New instructions are also up on this point last year. Buyers seem much more circumspect commented Andrew Oulsnam often viewing 10 or more homes before considering making an offer. Realistic pricing is the key. There is a very good selection of homes available now for sale and it quickly becomes evident to a buyer if a property is overpriced.
Mortgages remain difficult to get and most buyers are going to need the help of a reputable mortgage broker to have a good chance of getting a mortgage.
Above all, the increased level of viewings and enquires bodes well for the forthcoming months.
Hopefully the outlook for the general economy is going to improve and with spring around the corner, there should be a steady improvement in sales.
