Barnt Green area guide


Barnt Green is a semi-rural village, just south of Birmingham, on the northern tip of Worecstershire county. It is surrounded by gorgeous countryside in the form of the Lickey Hills as well as the Cofton Hackett and Bittell Reservoirs.

The origins of Barnt Green lie in the development of the West Midlands railway network, and so many of the houses available are from the Victorian era, in the Arts and Crafts style. Continued, carefully considered development has been steady in the village, and so now you will find a range of styles of homes available.

Transport Links and Location

There are exceptionally easy transport links in Barnt Green, as the village has a train station on both the Cross-City (Redditch to Lichfield) and the Bromsgrove (Birmingham to Worcester) lines. Birmingham City is only 10 miles away, which makes Barnt Green the ideal commuter location for families who want a rural home setting. Barnt Green is popular with commuters working across the Midlands who benefit from the nearby M5 and M42 motorways heading north-south and eastwards towards the M40.

Facilities and Amenities

The High Street runs linear in the centre of the village and has a very impressive array of independent retailers, a post office, as well as a Tesco Express and several eateries.
