Try the Hare and Hounds, Kings Heath

written by naomi baron

Kings Heath is well known for its independent, sometime bohemian and definitely vibrant community feel.  Its varied high street full of independent makers and with quirky cafés and individual shops are just some of the reasons that it is such a popular place to live.  Combine that with a 20-minute commute into the centre of Birmingham and excellent transport links including the future build new train station, it’s no wonder houses for sale in Kings Heath don’t hang around for long.

Hare and Hounds Named in Top Ten List!

Kings Heath also features some awesome pubs for evening entertainment and, the Guardian* has featured one of our Kings Heath sales branch teams favourites, the Hare and Hounds in its top 10 venues for live music in the UK!  The Hare and Hounds Kings Heath is a Victorian-style bar that’s been around since 1820.  It has a claim to fame that UB40 did their first ever gig there in 1979, and now is an intrinsic part of Birmingham’s live music scene.  The music genre is unrestricted so you’ll be able to hear live music that spans indie, hip hop, techno, jazz and beyond.

However, the pub also hosts a weekly pub quiz on Wednesdays and it serves an impressive selection of IPA if that’s your thing!
