The Village View Developments

The Village View
Currently there are 300 sites around Barnt Green, most of which in the Green Belt, waiting for an approval on applications to turn these fields into yet another housing estate. This may be just another ambitious plan by developers, but it has got us surrounded.
If these developments materialise, Lickey End would merge into Catshill and Marlbrook to the north and west. Meanwhile the south of Lickey End has all been planned on, all the way fown to the east side of the A38, from Bromsgrove gold course until The Oakalls.
Over on the east side, Alvechurch and Barnt Green would be combined as planned houses edge towards the M42.
These plans would mean that Alvechurch village would dramatically expand in size, to almost double what it is currently. The planning would fill up each and every one of the fields enclosed by the motorway and Alvechurch Bypass right across the village to the railway station. Very ambitious yet destructive plans.
For Redditch, houses would continue to be built in the north, continuing up to Cobb’s Barn roundabout.
The most worrying is Birmingham going ovr its current boarder towards Cofton Common, and over the Grovely Farm fields along to Upper Bittell’s shore. This would mean Birmingham would be visible from the hills behind the reservoir.
