THE GREAT BARNT GREEN BAKE OFF
Fri 12 Oct 2018
Julie Powell, Company Administrator

The Great British Bake Off is back on our screens and, whilst some of us still can’t quite get over the loss of Mary Berry, we’re still gripped to the new series and have to confess that Toksvig and Fielding are doing a sterling job of presenting the show.
So, fuelled by the idea if they can make a vegan meringue (who knew!) and a Middle Eastern pastry from the 1800’s with no prior warning, we can get in on the action and put our culinary minds to the challenge of our very own Barnt Green charity bake-off!
This Halloween, Friday 26th October, the Robert Oulsnam Lettings office will host the event, inviting entries from residents and colleagues alike.
There is a chance to win a prize of no insignificant value – a ticket to BBC’s Good Food Show and a £50 shopping voucher, so it’s definitely worthwhile dusting off your rolling pin and channelling your inner Nigella to create a showstopper to end all showstoppers!
If the consuming part of the bake-off gets you more excited, then please come to the Lettings office from 1pm – 4pm to purchase one, two, three or eight cakes; all proceeds will go direct to the company’s chosen charity of the year, the British Heart Foundation. Last year the team raised over £300 and they are determined to try and beat that total, so they need your help! The British Heart Foundation funds research to beat the world’s biggest killers; heart diseases, stroke, vascular dementia and diabetes. They fund over £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them.
Marie Smith, last year’s star baker with her tiered rainbow cake creation faces stiff competition from colleague Stacey who has been practicing her cupcakes and honing her skills ready for the challenge! Asked what she had planned for this year, Marie remained tight-lipped, but we all know whatever the two create will be in great demand!
If you would like to take part, simply bring your entry to the Lettings office on the high street on the day, and please contact Laura Fiddes-Baron, Branch Manager – laura@oulsnamlettings.net
