Welcome Onboard our Newest Lettings Team Member

Lydia Spencer has turned her Summer work into a permanent role in our lettings department as a Viewings Negotiator.  We were so impressed; we just couldn’t bear not to have her as part of our permanent team!  We caught up with Lydia to find out a bit more about our newest team member.

When did you join Robert Oulsnam and Company?

I started as summer cover in April 2019.

What do you like about working in the Oulsnam Barnt Green lettings office?

Because it is situated in a gorgeous area of Birmingham, that is both near to the fast-pace exciting city centre, whilst also near to beautiful rural scenery such as the Warley woods.

Where did you work before you joined the Oulsnam team?

I have worked in a number of customer service facing jobs including waitressing and bar work.

What is your main hobby outside of work?

As well as working for Robert Oulsnam and company, I am also a full-time student at the University of Birmingham studying Philosophy. So outside of work you would most find me studying, socialising with friends, or playing hockey.

If you could invite three people (dead or alive) to dinner, who would they be and why?

I would invite Bob Marley because he is a musical legend, Audrey Hepburn as she had such an interesting life and would have such interesting stories, and lastly Neil Armstrong.

What and where is your dream house?

My dream house would be a beautiful town house in Notting Hill in London. I recently visited London, and fell in love with all the picturesque houses Notting Hill had to offer.

What is your favourite thing about working in the property industry?

I love interacting with our clientele, the best thing about this is that no two days are ever the same. As well as this I love showing people around their new potential homes; it is so rewarding to see a client fall in love with their dream property.

What key benefit does your job role do for Oulsnam clients?

Being a viewing representative is an important role within the company as the viewing representative is often the first face the clients meet from the office, so using my customer service skills I am able to convey the offices professionalism and friendly atmosphere that is in keeping with the company’s values.

Which area that the lettings team covers do you think is most exciting to live in?

The Sunday Times UK Guide of Best Places to Live for first time buyers, recently voted the Bearwood area as the second-best place to buy a property for new home owners. This can be attributed to the perfect combination of quintessentially English features the town has, such as the traditional Victorian homes, which nicely juxtaposes the more modern additions such as a monthly vegan market and weekly yoga classes; this is why Bearwood should be an increasingly sought-after area for people to rent in and live.
