If you’re familiar with Rubery, you know of Jack’s supermarket. Whether you know of Jack’s from the weekly shop or the amazing work they have done for charity, their friendly staff and community spirit definitely deserve the recognition. From the beginning, the supermarket has done everything possible to help out the local community in Rubery, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed by the locals.
Since opening in October 2018, Jack’s has donated an outstanding 13,787 meals to people in need. These meals have been sent to care homes, schools and other vulnerable people who need them. This alone has made such a big impact on people’s lives in Rubery, but Jack’s generosity does not stop there.
Over £11,250 has been donated to Rubery and other Birmingham charities since the opening of Jack’s, making them known for their generosity. Jack’s also has a well known support scheme, in which customers have the opportunity to vote for causes that they feel are the most in need of donations and support. This has resulted in 32 different organisations being supported by Jack’s in the past few years, with presumably many many more to come. These organisations include social clubs, charities, and community centres – all vital organisations for Rubery and surrounding areas.
Jack’s Rubery store manager, Louis Chambers says “While our main priority is to provide top quality produce at great value prices, the local community has always been important to us. We are so proud of everything we have done for the Rubery community, and will continue to do so in the years to come.”
