A huge fire in a hotel in Worcestershire led to the A38 being shut off as 40 brave firefighters battled to tackle it. The blaze was discovered just after 10am, with crews being sent to the scene immediately. This led to a main road being closed in both directions.
The fire itself was in the roof of the building, and two crews from Bromsgrove were sent, along others from Worcester, Driotwich and Redditch.
The spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: We initially fought the fire with hose reel jets and were using a thermal imaging camera. Two crews were using breathing apparatus.”
However, on a lighter note a spokesperson for the fire brigade said “There were no casualties as the Travelodge has been shut because of the pandemic. They were literally opening it up today.”
