Now that the year has well and truly kickstarted, there has been lots of updates in the making to provide you with many experiences to enjoy with the whole family. Poetry reading at the local library
Monday 10th February
Held at the Northfield Library, this morning will be filled with a love of poetry to awaken your imagination. You don’t have to write poems to attend. If you simply love to listen to poetry being read, this will be a lovely morning to share a love of poetry.
A concert by the local community choir
Saturday 22nd February
Northfield Notes Community Choir brings together voices from across Birmingham in one day to showcase Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classical music from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. In popular demand the registration for this event has been extended so be quick so that you don’t miss out.
The event consists of a music learning workshop during the day, and a performance in the evening. Singing together is great fun, and brings people together to meet new friends, learn a new skill, and just makes you feel better. The day will be held at St John the Baptist Church.
New 25 Meter Swimming Pool
Northfield has a new leisure centre that is complete with a brand new 25-meter swimming pool. The pool is great for practicing, learning, and leisure swimming promoting a healthy activity that all can enjoy. There is also a smaller pool that is more suitable for younger children and a wide range of classes to take part in.
Retail park in Selly Oak
The new retail park in Selly Oak has a great selection of stores to suit all preferences. There is even places to grab a bite to eat. It is open every day of the week making it accessible for the whole community!
