Bromsgrove MP, Sajid Javid has recently held his sixth annual job fair at the end of November, but due to Covid restrictions this has been held online for the first time in the job fair’s history.
The jobs on offer at the fair vary from apprenticeships for those just starting out in the career, to full-time employment. These jobs are spread across lots of different industries too, with Barclays Bank, West Mercia Police and Severn Trent being exhibitors of the event. The list does not end there, with 30 exhibitors in total being involved.
Due to covid-19 restrictions and social distancing guidelines, took place on ‘www.bromsgrovedistrictjobs.com’ via virtual calls. Website visitors had the option to go into different calls to find out information on the opportunities on offer. Visitors to the job fair also had the opportunity to talk on a one-to-one basis with potential employers about the positions and the skills needed. This makes it easier for visitors to find the job they are looking for.
Mr Javid said “I am delighted that we have over 2,000 opportunities on offer for local residents. I am determined to support local jobseekers and businesses so we can secure the strongest possible recovery from this virus. The Jobs Fair wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of local businesses, so thank you to Excool Ltd and Sanctuary Group for sponsoring the event."
