More single females buying in London

The market for young single females buying their own property is
now the quickest growing in the UK, and incentives could see more
of this demographic moving into London property in the near
future.
The trend has been accentuated by various regeneration schemes in
places like Stratford, which is also the home to the Olympics, that
have made the city seem more cosmopolitan and trendy to live
in.
Lauren Nicholson, head of marketing at Family Mosaic, said: "We are
seeing a lot of enquiries from single women who want to buy here
which is a good sign.
"There is also an overflow of people from Canary Wharf, who want
more for their money but still to be close by."
One of the increasing ways that women are getting onto the ladder
themselves is through shared ownership, where they buy at least 35
per cent of their home, and pay a subsidised rent while they live
there.
